Isaac Owusu-Frimpong, financial administrative officer in the Division of Biomedical Sciences, was named the recipient of the UCR School of Medicine Values in Action Award (VIAA) at the quarterly Town Hall meeting on Tuesday, June 3, 2025.

Owusu-Frimpong was honored for his "unwavering commitment to the SOM values," and for ensuring "that there were no barriers for faculty, staff, alumni and visitors."

He was cited as a highly effective leader and supervisor who maintains the highest standards of professionalism and effective interpersonal interactions with faculty and students in the division.

"He constantly fosters a collaborative and respectful environment," the nomination read.
